The Covid 19 Risk Assessment Safe Workplace Training Course is an interactive video learning course aiming to provide learners with a greater understanding of the actions that can be taken to ensure a smooth and safe transition back to the workplace.

Aimed at employers and employees, this course is intended to help you plan and implement changes and ease the transition back to the workplace for those returning to a central work location after long periods of remote working. Who is this online training course for?
This course is aimed at anyone responsible for risk assessment and health and safety in the workplace. The course can also be useful to those returning to work after working from home, or starting work during and following the pandemic.
Course content
1THE COVID-19 VIRUS
This chapter will begin by explaining the differences between viruses and bacteria and exploring their hosts and how they mutate and spread. An explanation of the body’s response to disease and the immune system is then given to ensure that learners understand what is happening within the body and who is at risk.
The chapter than explores coronaviruses with a focus on Covid-19, how and where it spreads, and the risk of transfer. Symptoms are described and information about the incubation period is given as well as expectations about recovery times and other possible problems (including long Covid).
Learners will then hear about how to protect themselves and others from exposure, with a focus on the ‘hands, face, space’ method and self isolation procedures.
2COVID-19 RISK ASSESSMENT AND PERSONAL SAFETY
This chapter looks at business activities that are affected by Covid-19 and some of the solutions that can be introduced. Covid Alert levels are looked at in detail and the different ways these can affect workplace activities is explained.
This chapter explores the ways of Identifying risks using a Covid-19 Risk Assessment and gives information about hazards and places of risk. The chapter then explores the ways Covid-19 can affect mental and physical health in the workplace.
Information about staff training to protect against Covid is looked at, with detailed information given relating to cleanliness, correct handwashing techniques and the wearing and disposal of PPE.
3COVID-19 IN THE DAILY WORK ENVIRONMENT
This chapter looks at workspace layouts and the adaptations that may need to be made to ensure the workplace is Covid secure for all employers and hints and tips are given to support learners. Information about the importance of ventilation is explored and visual effects ensure that users know the best way to ventilate their workspace without causing risk.
Information for learners about safely moving around the workplace is covered next with ‘do’s and don’ts’ relating to working with colleagues and customers and suggestions for how to protect yourself and others. Basic information is given about PPE and how it applies to protecting against Covid 19.
Detailed information is given about how Covid can spread in the workplace and the importance of hygiene and cleanliness regarding office surfaces and equipment is emphasised. Information about deliveries and dealing with visitors is covered and details about travelling safely to and from work are explored.
The chapter summarises by briefly looking at how to deal with workplace accidents and updated information about administering Covid-safe first aid in the workplace is explained.
4ASSESSMENT
In order for learners to test their knowledge and complete the course, a multiple choice assessment is given at the end of each chapter. This ensures that learners consolidate and retain information and understand the course content. A certificate is available upon completion of the course.

Upon successful completion, a certificate of achievement is available and or automatically added to a learner’s digital record.
Digital certificate(s) – print, download, store
A certificate includes the learner’s name, course title, completion score / result, completion date and any marks of approval, accreditation authorities, and or distribution partners. It can be downloaded, stored or printed.

Records and certificates - Is the course accredited? What if i fail? Can I download my certificate?
Q: Is the course accredited?
Most of our courses are accredited by relevant authorities / approval bodies applicable to the course such as CPD, RoSPA or IIRSM. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any specific standard / approval requirements.
Q: Will I get a certificate?
All courses come with a certificate of achievement in recognition of completing the course successfully. A digital record is stored with each learner’s history and certificates are available for access and download.
Q: What if I fail my course?
If you do not achieve the pass rate for the course then you will be given the opportunity to review the training content and attempt the assessment again. With some of the video based courses, the course may be locked on a third failed attempt, subject to a review by your organisation administrator of a member of the RealSense support team.
