About the course

Infection Control Training is important because every year at least 300,000 people develop a Health Care Associated Infection. This has a huge impact on the patient, the staff and the institution it occurs in.
Infection prevention and control measures aim to ensure the protection of those who might be vulnerable to acquiring an infection and if there is good infection prevention and control, patients will have better health and more independence.
This video e-learning course will start by defining infection prevention and control and explain the impact of good and bad infection control. It will then go into detail about the legislation that applies to infection control, the different types of microorganisms, how bacteria are transmitted, the chain of infection and much more.

Aims of the course

The course aims to make all learners aware of the hazards, risks and impact infections can have and raise awareness of the infection prevention and control measures that are relevant to their place of work. Learners will gain greater understanding of the chain of transmission and how to break it and be given a thorough overview of cleaning and decontamination processes and practices.

Who is it for?

Infection Control Training is for all individuals involved in implementing infection prevention and control measures. This course is relevant to those working in health or care settings and particularly for those organisations requiring additional support in managing their infection control processes.

Infection Control Training Certificate

Our e-learning courses use formal and informal assessment methods to check learner understanding and measure the transfer and retention of knowledge and skills. Upon successful completion of a formal assessment (achieving the pass mark or above), a certificate is awarded to the learner in recognition of their achievement.

Digital certificate – print, download, store

A digital certificate can be downloaded and / or printed. Users may prefer the ‘paper-less’ option that automatically updates their digital learning record, stored in the cloud. Records contain details of sessions including progress, attempts and results – stored on our platform or the client’s Learning Management System (LMS).

Learning records are available 24/7 to review sessions, learner progress as well as provide access to certificates. This information is ideal for recording learning activity centrally including any associated CPD. Various reports demonstrate proof of planned and recorded learning activities. This assists with the management of compliance as well as pathways for achieving competence and behavioural change.

About the certificate

The e-learning certificate includes a unique Certificate ID specific to that learner, learner’s name, course title, the score percent mark achieved along with the date of completion and the marks of the approval, accreditation authorities and / or distribution partners.

Please note: when accessing the course via standalone media or 3rd party systems, you may need to follow separate ‘in-house’ steps for logging learning activity appropriate to that method of delivery.
