About the course

The Information and Cyber Security Awareness Training is an interactive e-learning course that aims to help train individuals (and organisations training their workforce) about information and cyber security, who is at risk and the types of attack.

Research tells us that 90% of information and cyber security breaches stem from emails. Whilst Information Technology (IT) Services / Departments often do all they can to keep systems and information safe, we all need to continue to be vigilant and aware of any security threats that may occur. This information and cyber security awareness training is designed to help improve your awareness, as your role in protecting your organisation from a cyber-attack can be equally as important as technical specialista in IT Services / Departments.

Aims of the course

The aim of the Information and Cyber Security Awareness Training is to raise the awareness of information and cyber security, identify who is at risk from these security threats as well as explaining the different types of cyber attacks and safeguarding measures. Educating learners on what action must be taken if confidential information is lost or stolen is an important aspect to the course.

By the end of this course learners will:

  • understand what is meant by information and cyber security
  • appreciate the importance of keeping information safe
  • understand different types of cyber attack and how best to protect against them
  • recognise safe and unsafe online behaviour
  • know how to keep information safe in a physical and online environment

Who is it for?

The course is for all users of computers, laptops, tablets and or mobile devices that access the internet, online and/or network services — whether at work, home or other environments including when on the move – who wish to be able to learn about and identify information and cyber security threats, to learn how to improve security and know what action to take if an incident occurs.

Information and Cyber Security Awareness Training Certificate

Our e-learning courses use formal and informal assessment methods to check learner understanding and measure the transfer and retention of knowledge and skills. Upon successful completion of a formal assessment (achieving the pass mark or above), a certificate is awarded to the learner in recognition of their achievement.

Digital certificate – print, download, store

A digital certificate can be downloaded and / or printed. Users may prefer the ‘paper-less’ option that automatically updates their digital learning record, stored in the cloud. Records contain details of sessions including progress, attempts and results – stored on our platform or the client’s Learning Management System (LMS).

Learning records are available 24/7 to review sessions, learner progress as well as provide access to certificates. This information is ideal for recording learning activity centrally including any associated CPD. Various reports demonstrate proof of planned and recorded learning activities. This assists with the management of compliance as well as pathways for achieving competence and behavioural change.

About the certificate

The e-learning certificate includes a unique Certificate ID specific to that learner, learner’s name, course title, the score percent mark achieved along with the date of completion and the marks of the approval, accreditation authorities and / or distribution partners.

Please note: when accessing the course via standalone media or 3rd party systems, you may need to follow separate ‘in-house’ steps for logging learning activity appropriate to that method of delivery.
