About the course

The Safeguarding Children Training course will look at the facts and figures surrounding risks to children, the types of abuse children may suffer, how to recognise the signs of abuse and the steps you should take if abuse is suspected in order to better protect the children in your care.

Although most children are brought up in a loving and nurturing environment and grow up to lead happy lives, the subject of safeguarding children needs to be considered by those working with children in order to better protect those children that need it most.

The course explains key legislation and guidance to ensure that learners are able to better protect the children in their care and contains factual and relevant content for any individual who works with children or has a duty of care for them.

Our course will ensure that learners gain a thorough understanding of safeguarding and the steps they must take to protect children as well as to keep themselves safe when working with children.

Aims of the course

The aim of the course is to provide extensive and detailed knowledge of the safeguarding of children and to define key terminology and legislation relating to safeguarding and protecting children. The course will ensure that those working with children gain a thorough understanding of the importance of safeguarding and their responsibilities.

The course will ensure that learners can recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse and bullying and know how to appropriately respond to a disclosure as well as explaining when to raise a concern and to whom. Learners will be fully briefed on the relevant documentation and record-keeping they must undertake.

Who is it for?

Safeguarding Children Training Certificate

Our e-learning courses use formal and informal assessment methods to check learner understanding and measure the transfer and retention of knowledge and skills. Upon successful completion of a formal assessment (achieving the pass mark or above), a certificate is awarded to the learner in recognition of their achievement.

Digital certificate – print, download, store

A digital certificate can be downloaded and / or printed. Users may prefer the ‘paper-less’ option that automatically updates their digital learning record, stored in the cloud. Records contain details of sessions including progress, attempts and results – stored on our platform or the client’s Learning Management System (LMS).

Learning records are available 24/7 to review sessions, learner progress as well as provide access to certificates. This information is ideal for recording learning activity centrally including any associated CPD. Various reports demonstrate proof of planned and recorded learning activities. This assists with the management of compliance as well as pathways for achieving competence and behavioural change.

About the certificate

The e-learning certificate includes a unique Certificate ID specific to that learner, learner’s name, course title, the score percent mark achieved along with the date of completion and the marks of the approval, accreditation authorities and / or distribution partners.

Please note: when accessing the course via standalone media or 3rd party systems, you may need to follow separate ‘in-house’ steps for logging learning activity appropriate to that method of delivery.
